Eid-el-Fitr : Governor Ododo urges Unity, tolerance, peace

Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has called on residents to foster unity, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence as they mark Eid-el-Fitr.

Speaking after the Eid prayers at the Muhammadu Buhari Civic Centre in Lokoja, Governor Ododo emphasized the significance of harmony among the state’s diverse communities.

A statement issued by his Special Adviser on media, Ismaila Isah, highlighted the Governor’s appeal for citizens to set aside their differences and collaborate in building a more peaceful and prosperous Kogi State.

Reaffirming his administration’s commitment to fulfilling campaign promises, Governor Ododo assured residents of ongoing efforts to promote development and mutual understanding across the state. He also commended religious and traditional leaders for their role in maintaining peace and progress.

During a courtesy visit from the Maigari of Lokoja, His Royal Highness Alhaji Ibrahim Gambo Kabir (Maikarfi IV), the Governor praised traditional rulers for their contributions to stability since he assumed office. He expressed gratitude for the Maigari’s support and pledged to strengthen the partnership between his administration and traditional institutions to bring governance closer to the people.

In response, the Maigari of Lokoja lauded the Governor’s leadership in uniting the state and offered prayers for his success. He also urged residents to uphold peace and obey the law.

Governor Ododo also welcomed heads of security agencies, senior government officials, and Lokoja residents who visited the Government House for the traditional Sallah homage.
