By Abbanobi -Eku Onyekachi, Abuja

Dr. Tobias Obiechina, Labour Party Chairman in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has urged party members to put aside their differences and work towards a common goal of victory in the upcoming area council elections.

In an open speech, during the party meeting over the weekend, Obiechina emphasized the importance of unity, stating that it’s crucial for achieving success.

While reiterating the importance of membership drive and emphasizing that a successful political party relies on its population, the Chairman therefore extended an olive branch to former members, including those who were with Abure, inviting them to return to the party.

Obiechina pledged that the party would ensure accountability from anyone seeking to stand for elections, promoting transparency and good governance, even as he expressed confidence in the judiciary, hailing the recent upright judgment as a positive step forward.

Obiechina’s leadership is seen as a key factor in strengthening the party’s position in the FCT. His appointment Chairmanship aims to lead the party to victory in the area council elections.

The LP has been working to increase its presence in the nation’s capital, and Obiechina’s leadership is expected to play a significant role in this effort. The party’s success in the area council elections will depend on its ability to present a united front.
