Ganduje Hails Buhari For Appointing El-Yakub Minister

Kano state Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has has hailed President Muhamamdu Buhari for appointing Hon. Umar El-Yakub as Minister of State for Works and Housing.

The Governor, through a Statement by the state Commissioner for Information, Malam Muhammad Garba,  described El-Yakub,  as a worthy son of Kano,  while congratulating him on his new national assignment. 

Ganduje added that going by his track records, El-Yakub’s appointment as a member of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) is strictly by merit.  

He described El-Yakub as a stalwart of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in view of his sterling performances as a lawmaker and most recently a Presidential aide.

According to the Governor,  “the appointment of the long-standing member of the progressive family equipped with the political experience and the knowledge, is a good omen for the development of the state and the progress of the APC in Kano state.”

The Governor expressed confidence in the ability of the new minister to further consolidate on his pedigree which earned him recognition, respect and honour at both state and the nation at large.

Ganduje also enjoyed him to see the new task as a challenge to make more remarkable impacts by deploying his vast experience, network and depth of knowledge to help in repositioning the sector in line with President Muhammadu Buhari’s agenda for housing and infrastructure development in the country.

The statement added that El-Yakubu’s position as an experienced legislator has played a leading role in ensuring a harmonius working relationship between the Executive and the Legislative Arm of government.

Hon. El-Yakub, who was member, House of Representatives in 1988 and from 2003-2007, representing Kano Municipal was until his ministerial appointment Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the President on National Assembly Matters (House of Representatives).
