Nigerian arrested with N200m worth of drugs in India

One Mr. Nonso Ekwealor, a Nigerian national has been arrested for possessing N206,062.67 worth of drugs in India.

The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) in a statement via it’s Twitter account said the accused was apprehended at the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport in New Delhi, India.

CISF said 200 grams of methaqualone, a sedative, were recovered in his underwear as he was undergoing security checks at terminal two of the airport.

According to the CISF, the suspect was scheduled to board an Indigo airlines flight to Bengaluru before he was arrested.

“CISF personnel apprehended a passenger namely Mr. Nonso Ekwealor Base (Nigerian) carrying 200gms Narcotic Substance (Methaqualone) concealed inside his clothing @ IGI Airport, New Delhi.

“Passenger was handed over to NCB officials” CISF said in a statement on Wednesday.

“The Nigerian man was handed over to the Narcotics Control Bureau authorities along with the seized narcotics that is estimated to be worth Rs 40,000,” the statement said.
