…they buy houses made from kidnapping business in Abuja

A member of the House of representative, Reps. Yakubu Barde, representing Chikun/Kajuru federal constituency of Kaduna state has called out politicians,  government to and security personnel’s of been responsible for Incessant kidnapping in the country.

Barde made the revelation on Tuesday while briefing journalist on the recent kidnap of over 125 student of Bethel Baptist high school in Kaduna state.

According to him,  kidnappings in the country is an evidence of failure of state, adding that there was need for the government to seek international assistance in the area of security.

“How many bandits have been arrested and you heard the government say we recovered N10 million. I want to know if there is any because I have never heard. So when the bandits collect money, where does the money go to? It is connivance.

“There are people in the town who bandits take money  to. The collaborators are in town and they use the money to buy properties. Go and check today. Most of the properties today in Abuja who are the ones buying them? Who are the owners of the choice houses being bought today all over the town. Where do they get the money?

” Do we want to be like Mexico where drug cartels kill at will? The location this student where kidnapped is ten minutes  drive to a military Barack  in Kaduna.

“If you abduct 120 students walking on foot, how long would they go in 10 minutes that they cannot be rescued. I am not a military expert but if you are called a general in the military it is assumed that all tactics of conventional warfare and unconventional warfare, you should be an authority.

“When will the life of one Nigeria matter to us? Is it when we are all killed? For me if there are moles in the military and they cannot be exposed, it means the moles are stronger than the government.

“Has the military run out of idea, because I ask, they tell you they know where the kidnapped people are taken to. Now they say if they attack they will be collateral damages. So is attacking that places is the only option they have on the table? Don’t  we have other solutions.

“For me the military the police have failed the members of my constituency. They have failed us. Our fate is now in the hands of God. How long shall we continue until we get a solution?

“For me, the military is overwhelmed. The Federal Government is overwhelmed and my call is that even the greatest of nations seek for assistance. Even America. Depending on what they want, they seek for assistance. Why cant we in this country call a spade a spade a and say we are overwhelmed.

“Let nations that are willing come to help us. Why? Is it because we are hiding something? If we are not why cant we call developed countries that are willing to join hands.

“China does a lot of business with Nigeria. Is it for economic interest alone? Why not for military interest. Why not for protection of property and safety of Nigerians. Are they interested in only building rails which is a profit venture? What are they giving back to the nation?

“On connivance with militarily personnel, for me it is very true. I want to believe it is very true. I remember an incident if you can recall there was to be an attack on bandits in Bornu state.
“I  think the aim of the government then was to use gas. But two days later we saw the bandits with gas masks. Now who told them? Can we say there are no moles in the military. But leadership is the ability to sieve the good, bad and ugly even in your organization. If you have an organization of 20, 000 people you cannot tell me they can be all good. There must be moles. Leadership is the ability to have the intellect to fish out moles among them.

“If the militarily cannot fish out the moles among them, then I am sorry I think there would be no end to this.”I can tell you that two security personnel were killed yesterday, who wanted to prevent the kidnapped in Bethel Baptist High School. Authoritatively, I can tell you that the number of security men that went there were just around 10, while the bandits were numbering even in hundreds.

“Honestly the government has failed in terms of providing security for my constituents. I would speak particularly for my constituents. If there is anything said that they are doing their best, I would say their best is not good enough.

“Their best is a failure. Let us say it, how long shall we continue this way? Are we going to continue to live like this? As I speak to you today, to prevent these things happening, Kaduna State government has closed down 13 schools. Very soon children are going to WAEC and they do not have lecture.

“Nigerians deserve answers from us. If we have failed, we should be able to say it. There is nothing like it is a shame. The moment you don’t want to accept that you failed then you are not going to look for help and Nigerians would be the ones suffer for it.

“The issue of use of gun. The time has come. We should legalize guns. So if you know  i have a gun and you are coming to attack me, all I need to do is to have small training over you. If i have better training I will kill you. I am calling that they should unban guns. Let all Nigerian shave guns like phones. But before that let us be very careful also. The necessary machinery that should be put in place to ensure that if anyone commits crime with the gun,” he said.

Meanwhile, earlier at plenary, after derivation on the matter,  the house resolved that all security agencies  take necessary measures to ensure early and safe return of the abductees.

They urged the Federal Government to as a matter of urgency increase its recruitment and training capacity for Military men and police to close the gap between available and required man power and as well increase the presence of security agents within the constituency.
