Ganduje Bans Display Of Political Leaflets,  Campaigns,  Praises In Sallah Festive Ground

Kano state Governor,  Dr.  Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has warned politicians and their supporters to desist from turning festive grounds into political rallies during the Sallah celebrations. 

The Governor who spoke through a Statement by the Commissioner for Information,  Ma’am Muhammad Garba, insisted that posters waiving, political rallies are still banned on Sallah festive ground.

According  to the Statement, “the ban on hiking up of posters and political rallies on Eid Praying Ground and other Sallah festivities such as the traditional Hawan Daushe at  the Emir’s Palace, is still in force.”

He said   such acts are not only distractions but also in violation of the Electoral Act.

He added that Sallah festivities are not political but solely religious and cultural gatherings aimed at showcasing our rich cultural heritage where people of different political leanings and foreign visitors attend. 

The Governor charged security agencies to take appropriate measures against any person  breaching the prevailing peace and spoiling the festivities.
