Easter: Archbishop Onuoha charges evil-doers to give way for God’s purpose for Nigeria

President of the Christian Council of Nigeria, Most Rev. David Onuoha, has urged all perpetrators of evil and promoters of injustice in the country to desist forthwith and allow God take over their ways for the benefit of the country and humanity.

In his Easter message to fellow countrymen, Dr. Onuoha, who is also the Anglican Archbishop of Okigwe South Diocese, noted that Easter would always remain a season of joy, hope and rejoicing because it marks the triumph of light over darkness, truth over falsehood, joy over pain pain, hope over despair, and life over death.

He preached that despite the pain, hardship, fear, poverty and hopelessness in the land, Nigerians must work towards a season of joy, peace, hope and abundance.

According to the cleric: “We must not allow hope and faith to forsake us or courage fail us. Let us see all that is happening to and around us now as part of the process for a new Nigeria that will ursher in peace, prosperity  and love, which will surely bert at God’s own time.

“Let us always enourage ourselves with the assurance that no human being nor group of people, no matter how rich, powerful or privileged, can derail God’s purpose and plan for His prople.

“We appeal to all merchants of death, pain and evil in the society, promoters of injustice and unfairness, and agents of division in the land to lay their .evil ways and deeds at the foot of the cross and be part of God’s plan to restore life and hope in the land..

“Nigerians and indeed people of every nation should rejoice because Jesus Christ has conquered death. He is alive to die no more and will surely give us life both here and in eternity.

As the sufferings and pains of Good Friday gave way to the joy of Easter morning, so also shall the sufferings and pains of today end in praise at God’s appointed time.”
