The Abuja Metropolitan Management Council (AMMC), Federal Capital Territory Administration has ordered the immediate closure of Myra Event Centre over noise pollution.
This is contained in a statement issued by
Mr Felix Obuah, Coordinator, Abuja Metropolitan Management Council in Abuja Thursday n Thursday.
Obuah said the centre, located at Plot 135, Mustapha Bello Street, Guzape was polluting the environment with noise, particularly at night, including other contraventions.
He explained that the centre would remain closed until further notice.
The coordinator stressed that the action was part of ongoing efforts to address noise pollution and other environmental violations across the nation’s capital.
He reiterated the administration’s zero-tolerance policy for violations that threaten public health and community harmony.
Obuah advised event centre owners against noise pollution, stressing the need to operate within the provisions of environmental laws guiding their operations.
According to him, any event centre that indulges in noise pollution will be closed down with immediate effect.
He urged FCT residents to report environmental violations through AMMC official channels, emphasising the need for collective action to protect the environment for the interest of the public.
