Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State commissioned the Senator Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke Leadership Centre at Adeleke University in Ede. The centre, named after the late senator and Osun State’s first civilian governor, aims to nurture ethical and inclusive leadership. Hon. Bamidele Salam facilitated the project.
Governor Adeleke described the centre as a landmark initiative that captures his late brother’s legacy. He praised Senator Adeleke’s people-centered governance approach and commitment to equality. According to Governor Adeleke, his brother’s leadership style was unique and distinctive.
Hon. Salam reflected on the eighth anniversary of Senator Adeleke’s passing. He emphasized that compassion is at the root of true leadership, citing Senator Adeleke’s exemplary qualities. The lawmaker described the leadership centre as a way to preserve Senator Adeleke’s legacy and history.
The centre’s design is inspired by Senator Adeleke’s traditional cap. It features a library, photo gallery, offices, and a lecture hall. Rep. Salam outlined plans for the centre’s development, ensuring its sustainability.
Governor Adeleke commended Rep. Salam for sustaining Senator Adeleke’s legacy. He expects the centre to run programs on political leadership, equipping leaders with skills in open governance and selfless public service.
The Timi of Edeland, Oba Munirudeen Adesola Lawal, eulogized Senator Adeleke as an embodiment of wisdom, strength, and leadership. He praised Rep. Salam for preserving Senator Adeleke’s history.
The leadership centre serves as a valuable platform for imparting leadership skills. It will document Senator Adeleke’s life, work, and legacy, allowing future generations to learn from his experiences.
