Insecurity: Zamfara PDP berates govt, condemns gov’s frequent trip

From Salisu Zakari Maradun, Gusau

Worried by the present unbearable situation in which the people of Zamfara found themselves ranging from killing and destruction of the properties by the bandits, the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state has called on the government to wake up from its slumber and come to the rescue of its citizens who are being killed on a daily basis.
It also called on the governor of the state to as a matter of fact and urgency, stop embarking on an unnecessary trips to not only outside the country but even the state and stay with his people for who he is occupying the seat.
This was disclosed by the newly elected deputy chairman of the party in the state, professor Kabiru Jabaka while speaking to newsmen on the activities of the party in Gusau capital, capital of the state.
Jabaka explained that it is unfortunate that while the people are suffering in the hands of bandits and  cattle rustlers, but still the governor had the gut to travel out leaving his people crying for help.
According to the professor, despite the fact the state loses hundreds of its people daily, yet the governor had never even once thought of condoling the people he rules over the death of their loved ones, instead he is only there enjoying himself and members of his family in Abuja and in as far as Niger republic.
He also stated that among the basic responsibility of any leader in the world is to ensure the security and education of the people he leads, but in zamfara today it is entirely different because is just like there is no leader and as far as the governed are concerned, there is no leader in the state”, Jabaka added.
Commenting further, professor Jabaka revealed that what the present leaders in zamfara exhibit today shows that it is not the people and the state are in their heart, what they consider much is only comfort.” They chose comfort only otherwise  they would not have behaved the way they do now and this testified to the fact that they don’t mean people but themselves only.
The deputy chairman further maintained that it is as a result of the carelessness of the present leaders that they brought a misleading system of compelling all appointees to swear by the holy  Qur’an that they don’t have hand in what happens today in Zamfara regarding the activities of the bandits who have been terrorizing the entire state for over a decade.
“think this is a sign of failure from the side of the government because  to say someone should swear after the official oath of office, is a defeat”, added the professor.
