The Northern Senators Forum has congratulated the government and people of Kwara State, particularly the people of Woro Community, over the safe release of victims of the recent kidnapping incident in the area.
In a statement issued on Thursday by the Chairman of the Forum, Senator Abdulaziz Musa Yar’Adua, the Senators commended the gallantry and professionalism of security agencies involved in the rescue operation.
The Forum specifically acknowledged the Nigeria Police Force, Department of State Services, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Nigerian Army, and local vigilantes for their joint efforts that led to the successful rescue.
“This achievement reflects what is possible when our security architecture works in synergy with timely intelligence from the community,” Yar’Adua stated.
The Northern Senators also appreciated President Bola Tinubu for providing the necessary political will and resources that enabled security forces to secure the release of the abducted persons unharmed.
According to the statement, the swift intervention at the federal level was critical to the success of the operation.
While celebrating the victory, the Forum expressed condolences to families of those who lost their lives during the incident.
“We pray to Almighty Allah and God to grant them eternal rest and give their families the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss,” the statement said.
The Forum urged both the Federal and Kwara State Governments to provide adequate support to the bereaved families. Senator Yar’Adua called on citizens to continue supporting security agencies with credible information, stressing that community partnership remains key to defeating insecurity.
He described the rescue as a sign that collaboration between security forces and local communities can yield positive results in the fight against criminality. The Northern Senators Forum once again congratulated the people of Kwara State and prayed that Woro and all communities in the North may know lasting peace.
