President Bola Tinubu has inaugurated the newly completed 10 kilometre Kabusa – Ketti road in Abuja Municipal Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Speaking at the event on Friday, Tinubu represented by the speaker House of Representatives, Abbas Tajudeen, said the road will ease mobility, enhance access to schools and healthcare in rural areas.
He said his administration is keen on providing services that would have direct impact on people at all levels
The president said, “the projects are in line wth the Renewed Hope Agenda of my administration, which places people at the centre of governance. We believe that good governance is not theory, it is action, reflected in the daily lives of the people”.
“While the 10km road may appear modest to some, for the people of Kabusa -Ketti, and the surrounding communities, it is truly transformational. I urged beneficiaries to ensure its responsible utilization for sustainability, while also assuring them of continued government support.
“This is not the end of the road, but it is the beginning. More projects will come, investments will reach you, and attention will be given to your needs, for every Nigerian deserves development no matter where they live”
Tinubu lauded the Minister of FCT Nyesom Wike and the contractors for delivering the project in time and according to specification while also praising the AMAC leadership for prioritizing this crucial intervention.
On his part, Wike had expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for his consistent support to the FCT Administration.
He said the road project, flagged off in December, 2024, was completed on schedule, and commended the contractor for his dedication and commitment.
Wike acknowledged the enthusiastic turnout from the communities during the commissioning exercise, describing it as a sign of happiness with the current administration. He praised the youth of Ketti for their support to the contractors, which facilitated timely completion.
“I commend the youths for the support they gave to the contractors. There are some communities that when you award jobs to be done, instead of them to support the company, they pose problems for the company. In this case, they supported the company to finish on time.
“When the people are happy, the government will be happy. When the government does good work, you will see the reflection in the faces of the people”, Wike said.
