Youths from Aninri/Awgu/Oji River Federal Constituency with requisite qualifications to further their education but lack the financial wherewithal to back it up, have been provided an opportunity to achieve their dreams at Federal Cooperative College, Oji River Enugu state, courtesy of Hon. JEngr.)Anayo Onwuegbu, member representing Aninri/Awgu/Oji River Federal Constituency in the 10th National Assembly.
The federal lawmaker rolled out the scholarship scheme as part of commitment to education and youth development for prospective students from his constituency.
A press statement from his office reads, “This thoughtful initiative aims to ease the financial burden of tertiary education for young constituents and encourage greater access to cooperative and technical education within the region.
“The scholarship program, which covers tuition and essential academic support, is part of Hon. Onwuegbu’s broader vision to empower youths through education, skills acquisition, and capacity building.”
The Provost of Federal Cooperative College, Oji River, Dr Jude Obidiegwu, in a chat expressed gratitude to Hon. Onwuegbu for the gesture, describing it as timely intervention that would significantly impact on the lives of many indigent students.
He outlined the courses and departments obtained in the institution as Co-operative Economics & Management, at both National Diploma (ND) and Higher National National Diploma( HND) levels, Banking and Finance (ND and HND),Business Administration (ND and HND).
The study of Computer Science is also obtained at both National Diploma and Higher Diploma levels at Federal Cooperative College,Oji River.
Other courses offer by the institution at the moment includes Accountancy at National Diploma (ND) level, Marketing (ND) and
Public Administration (ND).
Interested Youths of Greater Awgu(Aninri/Awgu/Oji River federal constituency) who wish to enrol in the Scholarship scheme can pick the application form from the school or any of the constituency offices of Hon.Anayo Onwuegbu, the statement indicated.
