The Director General/ CEO, National Environmental Standards and Regulations Enforcement Agency (NESREA), Prof. Innocent Barikor has congratulated the Comptroller-General of the Nigerian Customs Service, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi on his election as the Chairman of the World Customs Organisation (WCO) Council at its meeting in Brussels.
This is contained in a press release personally signed by the Director General.
Prof. Barikor said that Adeniyi’s elevation to the head of the highest decision making body in the global customs organization, comprising 186 customs administrations around the world, validates his impressive track record as an accomplished leader with impeccable qualities.
He said “CGC Adewale Adeniyi has recreated the Nigerian Customs Service, infusing the needed innovation and modernization to achieve remarkable progress in the operations of the service at various borders across the country, setting a standard in excellence and commitment to duty.
“His belief in Inter-Agency collaboration and synergy has strengthened the partnership between the National Environmental Standards and Regulations Enforcement Agency (NESREA) and NCS in preventing Nigeria’s borders from being exploited for environmental crimes.
“There is no doubt that his latest achievement is a pointer to greater feats ahead of this consummate professional, and on behalf of NESREA, I wish him resounding success in his new role.”
