The envisaged ICT training meant to empower 300 unemployed graduates from Aninri/Awgu/Oji River Federal Constituency, Enugu state, will start with a one day orientation programme at Hanif event centre, Mile 2, Oji River, Enugu state on August 23, 2025.
The Chairman, South East Youths Stakeholders Forum, Dr.Ezenwa Onyirimba, who is the facilitator gave this hints in a press statement made available to newsmen in Enugu.
He disclosed that the beneficiaries will be posted to camp for the three month intensive training after the orientation.
He stressed that the objective behind the training is to increase human capital development in Greater Awgu axis of Enugu state, with a view of lifting the grassroots out of poverty and create employment for participants through job placement after the training.
The statement read in parts, ” I believe that true Leadership begins when we recognise that our duty is not to serve power,but to serve people.
” I call on all of us to rise with purpose, knowing that the future is not something we wait for,it is something we build. With courage in our hearts and truth in our voices, we can lift our communities, protect our freedoms, and create a legacy of justice and progress.
‘ I believe that human capital development is the bedrock of a Greater Awgu of our Dream”.
He disclosed that the selected unemployed graduates will receive text messages inviting them to the training.
The three-month intensive training is being executed by Digital Bridge Institute,Enugu Campus at Ibagwa- Nike in partnership with the office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Community Engagement,South East zone. It is an initiative of President Ahmed Bola Tinubu led Federal government through the Federal Ministry of Information and Digital Economy, to curtail rate of unemployed graduates in Nigeria.
The participants will be provided with job opportunities after the training to enable them be productive and contribute meaningfully in the emerging ICT global economy.
Dignitaries expected during the orientation and training period include the Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology,vChief Uche Nnaji and the Guest of honour, Barr Mrs Chioma Nweze, the Junior Special Assistant to President Tinubu on Community Engagement,South East zone,
T.he President and Chief Executive Officer of Digital Bridge Institute,Mr David Daser and Chief Ugochukwu Agballah, the Enugu state APC Chairman,among others are expected to witness the training.
