A humanitarian initiative by Hon. Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere, the member representing Ideato Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, is making significant progress, according to Charles Okafor, GDF Media Director to the legislator recently.
In less than three weeks, over ₦45 million has been raised from friends and associates to support families of victims of recent violence in Ideato.
The funds, expected to reach ₦50 million, will provide critical support to families of victims in Umualaoma, Ndi Ejezie, Ndiakunwata, and Akokwa communities. Following the tragic killing of 26 people, the state and local governments had not provided assistance to the victims’ families, prompting Hon. Ikenga to take the initiative.
The support will primarily benefit orphans, widows, and families of victims, helping them rebuild their lives and providing relief to communities affected by the crisis. Once the targeted amount is achieved, modalities for distribution will be made public.
Hon. Ikenga’s efforts demonstrate his commitment to supporting his constituents in times of need. The success of this initiative will undoubtedly bring relief to the affected families and help them recover from the devastating impact of the violence
