Kebbi creates mining ministry, swears in new commissioner

Governor Nasir Idris has sworn in a new Commissioner for Mining and inaugurated the first Managing Director of the newly established Kebbi State Mining Development Agency, with the mandate on the duo to improve revenue generation from the mining sector.

Former Chairman of Ngaski Local Government, Garba Hassan Warrah, took the oath of office as a Commissioner, while ABDULLAHI Buhari Warrah was inaugurated as the Managing Director of the Mining Agency.

Kebbi State Chief Judge, Justice Umar Abubakar administered the oath of allegiance and oath of office presided by Governor Idris.

The Governor told them to up-the-tempo on revenue generation from the mining sector, both being indigenes of Ngaski Local Government Area, where most of the mining activity is taking place.

“No responsible government will joke about revenue, we cannot solely rely on federation allocation,

“The administration spent huge amount to secure the mining site in Ngaski, that’s why we gave the two of you, sons of the soil, Commissioner and Managing Director to perform optimally”,

“We want results, I believe in performance and results towards satisfying the yearnings and aspirations of Kebbi people, therefore, you must deliver”, Governor Idris emphasised.
