APC gains strength in Southern Kaduna with high-profile defections

By Mercy Aikoye

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, has said that Southern Kaduna now stands with the All Progressives Congress (APC). He stated this at a rally in Kafanchan, Kaduna State, where several prominent politicians from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) defected to the APC.

“The people have reclaimed their power. The tide has turned. The old walls have fallen,” Speaker Abbas declared. “And the people of Southern Kaduna now stand with the All Progressives Congress.”

The defectors include Senator Sunday Marshall Katung and Hon. Daniel Amos, along with thousands of their supporters. Speaker Abbas described their defection as a “political earthquake” and a “new dawn” in the politics of Kaduna South.

“President Tinubu has shown an unmatched commitment to the development of Southern Kaduna,” Speaker Abbas said. “He has listened to your long-standing cries for inclusion and responded with action.” The Speaker cited the establishment of the Federal University of Applied Sciences in Kachia, the Federal Medical Centre in Kafanchan, and the Military Command Centre in Samaru Kataf as examples of the President’s commitment.

Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State also spoke at the rally, saying, “APC is waxing stronger in Kaduna State due to the people-oriented programmes of the APC-led administration at both the federal and state levels.” He thanked Speaker Abbas for working with him to run an all-inclusive government.

Speaker Abbas assured the people of Southern Kaduna that their zone is now a priority for national development. “We have secured major projects for your zone in the 2025 budget with the full support of President Tinubu,” he said.

The Speaker urged the people to continue supporting the Tinubu administration and Governor Uba Sani’s government.

“These projects are not mere promises; they are tangible investments in the people,” he said. “They will lift families out of poverty, create jobs, strengthen local economies, and secure the future of this great region.
