The troops of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) have recorded significant operational successes in Borno State, rescuing abducted civilians and recovering a large cache of high-calibre ammunition.
Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, Media Information Officer
Headquarters Joint Task Force (North-East) Operation HADIN KAI, disclosed this in a press release on Sunday.
He said that in a coordinated offensive, OPHK troops and the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) engaged terrorists at a known crossing point in Konduga Local Government Area, neutralising five terrorists and rescuing three abducted civilians.
The operation also led to the recovery of AK-47 rifles and other materials.
Separately, troops uncovered 1,270 rounds of 12.7mm ammunition warheads, including live rounds, and power banks in Bulumkutu Railway area.
The successes highlight the importance of intelligence-led operations and collaboration with local security stakeholders. OPHK urges the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious movements to security agencies.
The general security situation in the affected areas remains calm, with troops maintaining dominance and protecting residents and infrastructure.
