To enhance efficiency of police vehicles for operations, the Nigerian Police Trust Fund, NPTF, has devised a system of training their own personnel on mechanisms of repairing police vehicles by themselves.
Part of the training is on going at ANNAMCO motor company, located at Emene Industrial area,Enugu,at the moment. It started on January 5th and will end on the 16th of January.
The Executive Secretary of Nigeria Police Trust Fund,NPTF, Alhaji Mohamned Sheidu, who inspected a training section at ANNAMCO Enugu on Tuesday , expressed optimism that the strategy will help to improve the operations of the Nigeria Police Force, in living up to the challenges of their duty, with an in built technical section handling repairs and maintenance of their vehicles.
He disclosed that about 100 police officers selected from Ebonyi and Enugu states are involved in the training at ANNAMCO,just as arrangements were made for other trainnees in other states, at technical outfits, close to them.
He assured that there will be equipped mechanical sections at various police divisions, to enable the auto mechanics discharge their duties efficiently after the training.
Some of the trainees involved in the workshop, who spoke to newsnen said the workshop is enabling them to improve their expertise in vehicle repairs and maintenance.
