Edo residents cheer as Okpebholo inspects 14km road

Edo State governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has inspected the ongoing 14km Eguaholor–Iguomon–Uvbenisi–Oza Road, triggering jubilation among residents.

This was captured in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Dr Patrick Ebojele, on Saturday in Benin.

The road links Uhunmwode and Orhionmwon local government areas.

Previously awarded but abandoned by a past administration, the project was revived, and connects several agrarian communities.

According to the statement, Okpebholo said the road construction reflects President Bola Tinubu’s support for Edo’s infrastructure expansion and agricultural transformation.

He stated, “Benefiting communities will show appreciation with maximum votes for the President in 2027.”

Councillor representing Isi North in Uhunmwode LGA, Friday Agbonze, said, “We suffered for years; this construction will boost livelihoods and the area’s economic resources.”

A resident, Oyenmwen Igbinedion, said, “The Governor rescued us from darkness; this proves the APC can be trusted to deliver practical governance.”

The project aligns with Edo’s infrastructure and agricultural drive, improving living standards and supporting farming activities, he said.
