The exercise which holds in the 21 Council areas of the state simultaneously was aimed at boosting the membership base of the party in the next general elections.

The party in a well attended Stakeholders meeting held in Awka, noted that the project was aimed at attracting no fewer than four hundred thousand new members.

The Director General(DG) of the South East Governors’ Forum, Sen. Uche Ekwunife, who convened the meeting said the move would boost the membership strength and withstand any electoral tide in all future elections.

She pointed out that the ambitious number would ensure the party becomes politically inviolable.

Iyom Ekwunife charged the 326 ward Chairmen and their executive members to mobilize and adequately sensitize members so as to get enough support for all the candidates of the party in the 2027 general elections.

“We are looking at each ward registering at least 1,000 New members of the party and if we can do that and through the electoral wards we shall be looking at over 336,000 new members into our party”

“The party wants to empower their members through this e registration and it is important for the party to know the number of their members who are committed members of the party “

“APC members are desirous of winning election for their party and we cannot do without the ward Chairmen because they ate the custodians of the party down the ladder at the ward level” she said.

The APC Chairman in the state, Chief Basil Ejidike and Chairman of Anambra South zonal Chapter, Mr Izuchukwu Okeke and other high ranking personalities presented speeches at the occasion.
