Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed, has declared Tuesday, 3rd February, 2026, work-free day for all categories of civil servants in both public and private sectors across the state.
A statement issued by the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media/Publicity, Mukhtar Gidado, said that the declaration is aimed at enabling citizens to fully participate in activities marking the historic milestone for the commemoration of the 50th Golden Jubilee Anniversary of the creation of Bauchi State.
The Governor described the anniversary as a moment of reflection on the journey of the state over the past 5 decades, celebrating achievements, strengthening unity, and renewing commitment to development, peace, and good governance.
While urging residents to use the day to pray for continued peace, progress and prosperity, as part of the celebrations, Governor Mohammed also directed them to plant at least one tree in commemoration of the day, the initiative being to promote environmental sustainability, combat desertification, reduce the effects of global warming, and preserve the ecosystem for future generations.
The Governor further urged citizens to celebrate responsibly, maintain peace and order, and demonstrate the values of patriotism, environmental consciousness, and collective responsibility that define the spirit of the state.
Governor Mohammed reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to good governance, inclusive development, and policies that would improve the welfare of citizens and strengthen institutions across the state.
“I congratulate all citizens on this historic milestone and urge you to actively participate in the Golden Jubilee activities to make the celebration a memorable and impactful one,” he concluded.
