The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has announced the arrest of a drug kingpin operating a colorado synthetic cannabis facility at Badeku, Ibadan.
The arrest was disclosed in a statement on Sunday by the agency’s Director of Media and Advocacy, Mr Femi Babafemi, in Abuja.
Babafemi said the suspect and an accomplice were arrested on Saturday.
“Operatives recovered eight litres of precursor chemicals, 14 grammes of skunk and Colorado production paraphernalia.
“Also recovered were N7.4 million and two vehicles, including a Mercedes-Benz SUV and a Toyota Highlander,” Babafemi said.
In Kwara, NDLEA intercepted a petrol tanker travelling from Lagos to Maiduguri on Saturday.
“A search uncovered 395,400 tramadol capsules concealed within the truck, and the driver was arrested,” Babafemi said.
Elsewhere, a couple was arrested in Imo with 203kg skunk, while 420kg was recovered in Ondo.
Similarly, NDLEA Marine Command seized 31 wraps of cocaine hidden in a handbag at Yekeme, Badagry, Lagos State.
“The suspect arrived from Côte d’Ivoire by passenger boat on Friday,” Babafemi said.
On Feb. 4, operatives also arrested a suspect on Lagos Island with 3.6kg of canadian loud and colorado.
In Enugu, a dealer was arrested at Asata, Ezeagu, with skunk, meth, cocaine, molly and N457,700 seized.
Meanwhile, NDLEA officers sustained War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) sensitisation nationwide across schools, worship centres, workplaces and communities at the weekend.
Activities included lectures at schools in Anambra, Oyo and Lagos states.
The Niger command also paid a WADA advocacy visit to the Emir of Suleja, Alhaji Mohammed Auwal Ibrahim.
