A political pressure group in Enugu State, IFEDICHE Political Family, at the weekend stepped up its push for the re-election of President Ahmed Bola Tinubu and Governor Peter Mbah in the 2027 general elections by inaugurating its local government coordinator and ward executives in Aninri Local Government Area.
The Ifediche Political Family, a core APC political pressure group, is also projecting its principal, Mazi Dr. Ezenwa A.A. Onyirimba, to contest the House of Representatives seat for Aninri/Awgu/Oji River Federal Constituency in the 2027 National Assembly election.
Director General of the group, Evangelist Dr. Walter Madu, said arrangements had been concluded to carry out similar inaugurations of coordinators and ward executives in Awgu and Oji River local government areas in the coming weeks.
Aninri, Awgu and Oji River local government areas, collectively known as Greater Awgu, make up the Aninri/Awgu/Oji River Federal Constituency, a division of Enugu West Senatorial District.
He added that the group would subsequently extend its grassroots mobilisation to Udi/Ezeagu Federal Constituency, another division of Enugu West Senatorial District, in a bid to remain relevant across the entire senatorial zone.
The Ifediche Political Family is working to ensure that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is firmly rooted in Greater Awgu and emerges as the party to beat in the 2027 general elections.
The inauguration of the local government coordinator and ward executives in Aninri was conducted in three phases. Members from Mpu, Ndeaboh and Okpanku wards were inaugurated at Central School, Okpanku, in the presence of numerous grassroots supporters.
Executives from Oduma Wards 1, 2, 3 and 4 were inaugurated at the open space of Oduma Health Centre, while those from Nenwe Wards 1, 2 and 3 were inaugurated at the premises of Nenwe Primary School.
At each venue, the Director General, Dr. Walter Madu, stressed that their task was to bring more voters into the APC fold and persuade them to vote massively for President Tinubu and Governor Mbah in the 2027 elections.
Dr. Walter Madu emphasised that Dr. Mazi Ezenwa A.A. Onyirimba is contesting for the House of Representatives seat of Aninri/Awgu/Oji River Federal Constituency to promote socio-infrastructural development in Greater Awgu, empower constituents and build the capacity of youths.
His words, “With mere position as Director,Youths and Students Affairs arm of APC,Dr Onyirimba influenced the on going ‘train and employ’300 youths from Greater Awgu at Digital Bridge Institute, Ibagwa Nike, the distribution of fertilizers, agro chemicals and equipment distributed at random to a select group of farmers, renovation of 18 non functional boreholes in Greater Awgu axis and welfare packages such as clothes and bags of rice to women,assuring he will provide more when he is elected.”
At different points during the inauguration, some rural women testified that they had benefitted from Dr. Ezenwa Onyirimba’s agricultural inputs, branded clothing and other welfare packages, despite his not holding any elective position.
The Aninri Local Government Coordinator, Mr. Emeka John Chukwudi, expressed delight over the inauguration of IFEDICHE Political Family in the area.
He assured that the group would reach all parts of the local government to canvass support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027, the re-election of Governor Peter Mbah for a second term, and the election of Mazi Ezenwa A.A. Onyirimba into the House of Representatives.
Mr. Emeka John Chukwudi and 10-member executives from Mpu, Ndeaboh and Okpanku wards, totalling 31 persons, were inaugurated at Central School, Okpanku.
At Oduma, 10-member executives from Wards One to Four, totalling 40 persons, were inaugurated, while at Nenwe, 10 persons each from Wards One to Three, totalling 30 persons, were also inaugurated.
In all, the Ifediche Political Family of Greater Awgu, on Saturday, February 14, inaugurated a total of 101 members as ward coordinators and executives to support the re-election of President Ahmed Bola Tinubu, the re-election of Governor Peter Mbah, and the election of Mazi Dr. Ezenwa A.A. Onyirimba into the Green Chamber to represent Aninri/Awgu/Oji River Federal Constituency.
The DG of the group, Dr. Walter Madu, assured the coordinators and executives that mobility and logistics would be provided to aid their movements, adding that their leader, Dr. Ezenwa Onyirimba, would also boost their morale with door-to-door campaigns when the time comes.
