Speaking while announcing his candidacy, Opeoluwa adopted the slogan “Vox Populi, Vox Dei”—a Latin phrase meaning “the voice of the people is the voice of God.” According to him, the slogan reflects his commitment to ensuring that the voices of Nigerian students are heard, valued and respected.

“This is not merely a slogan; it is a commitment to ensuring that every student’s voice is heard, valued and respected,” he stated.

Opeoluwa noted that his background in student unionism has prepared him for the responsibility of leading the student body. He previously served as Public Relations Officer of NANS Zone D, a role he said gave him deeper insight into the challenges facing Nigerian students.

Highlighting his agenda, the aspirant pledged to tackle factionalism within the association and promote unity among students nationwide.

“I envision a NANS that is unified, inclusive and truly representative of the diverse student population across the country,” he said.

Opeoluwa also promised to work closely with Student Union Government (SUG) presidents across tertiary institutions to address critical issues affecting students, including rising school fees, accommodation challenges and poor learning environments.

He further stressed the need to empower stakeholders within the education sector through initiatives that encourage sustainable growth and development among students.

“I believe in creating opportunities that transcend the confines of our university years,” he added.

Calling for unity and support, Opeoluwa urged student leaders and the general student community to rally behind his vision for a stronger and more effective NANS.

“Together, we can build a formidable force that will advocate for our rights and champion our collective interests,” he said.

He concluded his declaration with the popular student movement chant: “Aluta Continua, Victoria Ascerta.”
