Two construction workers reportedly lost their lives while four others injured  yesterday when a perimetre fence collapsed at a building site, on Ademola Adetukumbo crescent Wuse II in Abuja.

The Director General, FCT Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Idriss Abbas who confirmed the incident said  the bodies have since been taken to Asokoro General hospital morgue, while those injured are receiving treatment.

He disclosed that the agency had since drafted officials to the  building located  beside UBA for rescue operation.

According to him, the incident was caused by the construction workers who  had excavated or encroached deep into another building.

“So far six people were removed from the rumbles, two were fatally injured while the remaining four are in  Asokoro General hospital receiving medical care.

“It is not the building under construction that collapsed, because it is still at the foundation level, it is the wall (perimeter fence) that collapse on them”
