Aduda, a long‑time PDP stalwart, in a letter dated March 17, 2026 and addressed to the Karu Ward Chairman which was seen by the The AUTHORITY on Wednesday, highlighted internal disagreements in the PDP and a desire to remain politically relevant in the rapidly evolving national landscape as his reasons for abandoning the umbrella.

“I write to formally notify you of my resignation as a member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) with immediate effect due to the crisis in the party.

“I remain grateful for the opportunity the party gave me to serve in various elective positions in our nation. Please, accept the assurances of my high esteem.”

He however did not mention his next political moves, though analyst strongly believe that he will be heading to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) since he has been identified as a very close ally of the Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike who, though a member of the PDP, is unapologetically working for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu in 2027.

Aduda’s departure from the PDP comes amid a broader series of high‑profile defections from the main opposition party to the APC and other emerging platforms. Political observers say these moves are reshaping the opposition’s strength ahead of 2027.
