Senators have extended warm congratulations to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his 74th birthday, describing him as a visionary leader who has consistently demonstrated courage, tenacity, and a pursuit of a better society for Nigeria.
Senate President Godswill Akpabio praised President Tinubu’s leadership, vision, and dedication to the nation, saying his quest to transform the country is inspiring. Akpabio noted that President Tinubu’s reforms, though challenging, are yielding dividends and demonstrating his commitment to democratic values and economic growth.
The Senate President expressed confidence in the President’s ability to deliver on his Renewed Hope Agenda, praying for his continued good health and wisdom. He assured President Tinubu of the National Assembly’s collaboration and support in bequeathing a lasting legacy for future generations.
Similarly, Deputy Senate President Barau I Jibrin congratulated President Tinubu on his 74th birthday, praying for his sound health and long life to achieve his vision for Nigeria’s prosperity. Senator Barau described President Tinubu as a visionary leader who has worked tirelessly for 34 months to reposition the country for the benefit of present and future generations.
Senator Barau expressed confidence that Nigerians will re-elect President Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election, citing his reforms and infrastructural development efforts. He predicted that the President will win a second term, saying “By this time next year, when we will be celebrating his 75th birthday, he will be the President-Elect for his second term.”
The Deputy Senate President urged citizens to support President Tinubu, emphasizing that he has the country’s best interests at heart. He reaffirmed the National Assembly’s support for the President, stating “we stand with the President on this journey to address our nation’s challenges for the benefit of our people.”
Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele also congratulated President Tinubu, disclosing that the National Assembly is working on a decentralized police model that emphasizes accountability and discourages the abuse of power by the political class. The model aims to devolve policing powers to sub-national authorities, ensuring effective governance across the country.
Bamidele praised President Tinubu for building synergy with the National Assembly to address insecurity, noting that the President has supported the decentralized police model. The Nigeria Police has submitted a 75-page framework to the Senate for consideration.
The new model will incorporate accountability mechanisms to prevent power abuse, reinforce justice administration, and preserve fundamental human rights. Bamidele expressed confidence that the decentralized police model will enhance security and promote good governance.
Former Senate President Ahmad Lawan also congratulated President Tinubu, praising his bold reforms and commitment to democratic ideals. Lawan noted that President Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope” agenda is reshaping Nigeria’s economic discourse and redefining its infrastructural outlook.
Senator Solomon Adeola, chairman of the Senate Committee on Appropriations, described President Tinubu as a father, mentor, leader, and benefactor, whose life is defined by courage, vision, and commitment to Nigeria’s progress. Adeola prayed for President Tinubu’s continued strength, health, and wisdom to lead Nigeria to greater heights and economic prosperity under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
As President Tinubu celebrates his birthday, senators and Nigerians are wishing him well, hoping for continued progress and prosperity under his leadership.
