President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed deep gratitude to Nigerians for their outpouring of goodwill as he marked his 74th birthday, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to overcoming national challenges and building a more prosperous country.

In a special birthday message released on Sunday, the President thanked citizens across the country for their prayers, support, and solidarity, noting that their encouragement continues to inspire his leadership.

“I’m filled with joy and gratitude for the opportunity to serve this great nation,” Tinubu said, while acknowledging individuals and groups who took out advertisements in newspapers and broadcast media to celebrate him.

He also extended appreciation to his wife, the First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, for her “kind and loving words,” as well as Vice President Kashim Shettima for his tribute.

The President revealed that, in keeping with his tradition, he opted for a low-key celebration in consideration of the current national mood.

Reflecting on his administration’s journey, Tinubu acknowledged the challenges faced since the introduction of key reforms but expressed optimism about Nigeria’s trajectory. He said recent progress shows “a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel,” despite setbacks linked to the ongoing Middle East crisis.

According to him, the achievements recorded so far are a collective effort involving the government and the Nigerian people, stressing that the gains do not belong solely to his administration.

“As we march towards the third anniversary of our administration, it is my deepest conviction that we shall succeed in building a brighter future for our citizens and future generations,” he stated.

Tinubu reaffirmed his government’s resolve to tackle prevailing challenges and called for sustained public support, emphasizing the need for unity in building a stronger, more resilient nation.

He concluded by urging Nigerians to continue working together to make the country “the pride of Africa.”
