As Nigerians celebrate Easter, top lawmakers have extended warm greetings to Christians and urged the nation to come together in peace and unity. Senate President Godswill Obot Akpabio, Senator Solomon Adeola, and Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru have all emphasized the importance of embracing the values of love, sacrifice, and hope exemplified by Jesus Christ’s death and resurrection.
Senator Abiru, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Banking, Insurance and Other Financial Institutions, and Chairman of the Southern Senators’ Forum, urged Nigerians to reflect deeply on the significance of Easter and to strive for peace and harmony with one another. “On this commemoration of life, sacrifice, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, let us be guided by His teachings and strive to live in peace and harmony with one another, as exemplified by Christ,” he said.
Abiru called on Nigerians to remain steadfast in their prayers for the nation and to support the ongoing efforts of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration aimed at building a stronger and more prosperous country. He noted that the Easter season presents an opportunity for renewed hope and collective resolve, encouraging citizens to contribute meaningfully to national development.
Earlier, Senate President Akpabio had urged Nigerians to embrace peaceful coexistence, tolerance, and mutual respect, saying Nigeria will surely overcome its current challenges, particularly insecurity. Senator Adeola had also called on Nigerians to pray for President Tinubu and the nation, saying the implementation of the Renewed Hope Agenda is laying a solid foundation for a prosperous and secure future.
