Serving Senator Shehu Buba on Tuesday obtained the nomination form of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to contest for the governorship of Bauchi State ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The senator, who currently represents Bauchi South Senatorial District in the National Assembly, secured the N50 million form during an exercise conducted by the APC in Abuja.
Addressing journalists afterwards, Sen. Buba expressed gratitude to God for the opportunity to witness another electoral cycle and participate in the contest, and called on party members seeking various elective positions on the platform of the All Progressives Congress to follow due process and participate in the exercise.
Speaking on his chances against the ruling Peoples Democratic Party in Bauchi State, the lawmaker said he was confident the APC would reclaim power in the state.
“We stand a very good chance to take over Bauchi from the ruling PDP. I am optimistic because Bauchi is an APC state,” he said.
He accused the current administration in the state of failing the people and vowed that the opposition party would unseat the PDP if he emerges as the APC candidate.
“Being the first person to obtain the form as an aspirant, be rest assured that, if I get the ticket, we will send the PDP out,” he added.
