Ezimo Unity Forum Commends Sen Asogwa For Appointing Ex-President As Aide

The Ezimo Unity Forum, an apolitical group made up of progressive-minded sons of Ezimo Community in Udenu Local Government Area of Enugu State, Thursday, commended Senator Ikeje Asogwa, representing Enugu North Senatorial District, for appointing one of their sons, Hon Onyekachi Ugwu, as a legislative aide.

The forum described Hon Ugwu’s appointment as “a square peg in a square hole”, adding that he “is a result-oriented administrator”.

The President of the group, Pharm Charles Ndu, disclosed the position of the group in a letter addressed to Senator Asogwa, which was made available to newsmen in Enugu. Pharm Ndu said by the appointment, Senator Asogwa had demonstrated his readiness to run an all-inclusive legislative assignment for the entire district of Enugu North Senatorial Zone.

Quoting Ndu, “The appointment is a demonstration of the fact that Senator Asogwa’s era at the National Assembly will usher in a new dawn for the people of the senatorial district. It is also an indication that our great community, Ezimo Kingdom, is highly revered by our Senator. We cannot thank him enough.”

The Forum, in the letter, prayed for divine guidance upon Senator Asogwa as he “steers the ship of Enugu North Senatorial District in the National Assembly”.

The letter added, “Senator Asogwa’s track-records in Enugu State Housing Development Corporation and Enugu State Universal Basic Education Board are a pointer that our expectations from him are within his capacity.”

The group assured Senator Asogwa that Hon Ugwu would live up to expectations in his assignment as a legislative aide.

According to the group, “Hon Ugwu is a reputable son of Ezimo. He led our Ezimo Unity Forum as a pioneer President and distinguished himself in all his dealings. He is a goal-getter, result-oriented and a dynamic administrator. He once held sway as our Councillor, as well as transition Chairman of Udenu Local Government Area where he left positive indelible marks.

“We have no doubt Hon Ugwu would be a plus to

Sen Asogwa’s legislative assignments in the Senate.”

Our correspondent reports that Senator Asogwa replaced the late Senator Okey Ezea who died last year. Asogwa, of the All Progressives Congress, had emerged victorious during the June 20, 2026 bye-election.
