2027: Ebonyi APC leadership urges residents to collect PVCs, vote

From Enyinna Omoke, Abakaliki

The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ebonyi State, Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha, has urged residents of the state to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and participate actively in the 2027 general elections.

Emegha made the call while speaking with journalists after a meeting with party stakeholders, candidates and local government chairmen at the APC state headquarters in Abakaliki, the state capital.

He described the PVC as a vital instrument for political participation and urged eligible voters to ensure they collect their cards and use them to elect their preferred candidates during the elections.

“Every Ebonyian should go and pick his or her Permanent Voter Card (PVC). I am appealing to them to use the card and cast their votes on election day because the PVC is their strength,” he said.

The APC chairman explained that the meeting was convened to brief candidates on the party’s guidelines, identify challenges and address internal disagreements that could affect its electoral fortunes.

He added that sustained consultations would provide an opportunity to address candidates’ concerns and reconcile members dissatisfied with the outcomes of the party’s primary elections.

Also speaking, the senator representing Ebonyi North Senatorial District and Deputy Chief Whip of the 10th Senate, Barr. Onyekachi Nwebonyi, expressed confidence in the APC’s chances of victory in the 2027 general elections.

Nwebonyi attributed his optimism to the achievements of Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru’s administration and the party’s popularity across the state.

He said the APC would continue to engage its members and stakeholders through regular consultations to strengthen party unity and consolidate its position ahead of the elections.

Similarly, the APC candidate for Afikpo/Edda Federal Constituency, Hon. Joseph Ekuma Nkama, expressed confidence in the party’s electoral prospects, citing its delivery of democratic dividends to the people.

Nkama reaffirmed the party’s determination to secure victory across all levels of the 2027 elections, from the presidency to the Senate, House of Representatives and State House of Assembly.
