Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, has commended the Knights of St. Mulumba (KSM) Nigeria for establishing its Endowment Fund and Charity Initiative, describing the project as a visionary intervention that will ensure sustainable humanitarian service across the country.
The Peaker represented by Hon. Festus Ayodele, House Committee Chairman, Christian Pilgrim Commission, speaking at the official unveiling of the KSM Endowment Fund and Charity Initiative in Abuja on Thursday, the Speaker said the initiative demonstrates remarkable foresight by institutionalising charity to address both present and future humanitarian challenges.
Abbas noted that the establishment of the endowment fund reflects the enduring principle that charity should extend beyond responding to immediate needs and become a sustainable platform for long-term social impact.
He also praised the Knights of St. Mulumba for over seven decades of dedicated service to God and humanity, acknowledging the organisation’s contributions to charity, compassion, justice and nation-building.
The Speaker said the initiative aligns with efforts to promote sustainable development through partnerships between faith-based organisations, government and other stakeholders in addressing social and humanitarian needs across Nigeria.
The KSM Endowment Fund and Charity Initiative is expected to provide a structured and sustainable financing mechanism to expand the Order’s charitable programmes and humanitarian interventions nationwide.
