Nigeria Medical Association (NMA), Anambra State Branch has elected new executive to pilot affairs of the organization.
The election held during the 2026 Annual General Meeting, Scientific Conference of the body, saw Dr. Ndubuisi Edwin Arua as Chairman of the body while Prof. Osita Umeononihu was elected as Vice Chairman.
Dr. Golibe Christian Ikpeze was elected as Secretary, Dr. Uzoma Chidi Okereke emerged as Financial Secretary, while Dr. Augustine Chinagorom Anugoh and Dr. Faith Kenechi Nnaji were elected as Welfare Officer and Assistant Secretary respectively.
Speaking on behalf of the newly elected Executive Committee, the chairman, Ndubuisi Arua thanked members for the confidence reposed in them to serve.
He pledged their readiness to build on their predecessors’ achievements while pursuing initiatives that would strengthen the association, promote members’ welfare, uphold professional excellence and deepen engagement with stakeholders.
He said, “we express our profound gratitude to every member of our great Association for the confidence reposed in us during the just-concluded elections.
“We are deeply humbled by your overwhelming support and the trust you have placed in us to serve. We do not take this mandate for granted.”
Dr Arua appreciated every member who participated in the electoral process—contestants, the Electoral Committee, observers, supporters, and every colleague who exercised the right to vote.
He noted that their participation has once again demonstrated the strength of the collective commitment of all stakeholders to a stronger NMA in Anambra State.
