The 17th edition of the Healing Streams Live Healing Services with Pastor Chris Oyakhilome opened on Friday with millions of participants joining from across the world as the programme featured worship, prayers, Bible teaching and testimonies of healing and transformation.
The first day of the global event brought together participants at healing centres, churches and homes across different countries, with organisers describing the opening session as one marked by faith, salvation and testimonies of divine healing.
Welcoming participants, Executive Minister of Healing, Health and Social Services, Pastor Deola Phillips, encouraged viewers to prepare their hearts to receive from God throughout the programme.
She urged participants to approach the services with faith, expressing confidence that lives would be transformed through the ministry of God’s Word and prayer.
The event also featured a global prayer session led by Rev. Ray Okocha, during which participants offered prayers and declarations of faith. Organisers said reports of healings and improvements in health conditions began to emerge from several healing centres during the session.
The Loveworld Singers led worship sessions, while a panel of senior ministers, including Rev. Tom Amenkhienan, Rev. Ray Okocha and Pastor Johan De Beer, shared biblical teachings on faith, healing and the importance of sharing testimonies.
The ministers encouraged participants to remain focused on God’s Word and believe for divine intervention regardless of their circumstances.
A testimony segment anchored by Evangelist Eddy Owase featured participants from several countries, including Costa Rica, Nicaragua and Paraguay, who shared personal accounts of healing and life-changing experiences from previous editions of the Healing Streams Live Healing Services.
Pastor Chris Oyakhilome later ministered to participants physically present and to a global audience connected through television, digital platforms and viewing centres.
According to organisers, the healing session was accompanied by numerous testimonies from participants who reported recoveries from various health conditions.
During his teaching, Pastor Chris spoke on the theme of the Gospel of the Kingdom, explaining that Christianity is centred on a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ rather than religious observance alone.
Drawing from biblical passages including Mark 1:14–15, Isaiah 35, Isaiah 61 and Luke 4, he taught that God’s Kingdom is founded on faith, hope, love and righteousness, stressing that believers can confidently expect God’s intervention in their lives.
He described authentic Christianity as “a relationship, not a religion,” adding that the teaching would continue in subsequent sessions.
The organisers also shared testimonies from different countries, including Vietnam, the Solomon Islands, Pakistan and Fiji, where participants reported healings and answers to prayer during previous and current editions of the programme. These testimonies included accounts of recovery from serious illnesses, restored mobility and childbirth after years of infertility.
The first day concluded with organisers reporting that testimonies continued to arrive from different parts of the world.
The Healing Streams Live Healing Services continues on Saturday, July 25, with sessions scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m. (GMT+1). Organisers have invited people worldwide to participate through the programme’s online broadcast.
