Nigerian Institution Of Safety Engineers advocates consciousness on public safety

The Nigerian Institution Of Safety Engineers a division of the Nigerian Society Of Engineers has proposed strategies towards the promotion of safety standards in Anambra State.

The proposal was made public at the inauguration ceremony of the 2026/2027 Executive Committee of the group and inauguration of the 4th Anambra State Chairman Engineer Bertram Nwajagu in Awka.

Taking a cue from the theme of the induction ceremony,” Advancing Public, Collaborative governance Between Engineers And Regulators’, Engr. Nwajagu announced his intention to establish a State Safety Commission to enlighten the public on the imperatives of embracing safety standards.

Engr. Nwajagu pointed out that the commission will drive the safety campaign in all spheres of human endeavors.

He revealed the preparedness of the association to partner with critical stakeholders and government parastatals to promote safety standards in the society.

On his part, the immediate past chairman of the association Engr. Finbar Ajaegwu urged the general public to put safety first in all they do and in the various institutions they find themselves.

He appealed to his successor to establish safety clubs in Anambra State to safeguard the lives and properties of the citizens.

The Anambra State Commissioner for Petroleum and Mineral Resources Prof. Charles Ofoegbu represented Gov. Charles Soludo at the occasion.
