Kaduna State is playing host to a gathering of top government officials, traditional rulers and development stakeholders today, as thousands of trainees converged on the Abdulkadir Balarabe Musa Campus in Rigachikun, Igabi Local Government Area, for the graduation of 4,050 entrepreneurs and technicians trained under Governor Uba Sani’s flagship skills development programme.
Among the dignitaries already in attendance are Governor Uba Sani; the Deputy Governor, Dr Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe; the Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Olatunji Alausa; the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr Jumoke Oduwole; the Executive Secretary of the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), Professor Idris Muhammad Bugaje; and the Emir of Zazzau, His Royal Highness Ambassador Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli.
The graduation ceremony marks a major milestone for the Kaduna State Institute of Vocational Training and Skills Development, a landmark institution established by the Uba Sani administration and commissioned by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as part of efforts to equip young Nigerians with practical skills for employment, entrepreneurship and economic self-reliance.
Widely regarded as one of the most ambitious vocational training initiatives in the country, the institute operates campuses in Rigachikun, Soba and Samaru Kataf, providing training across multiple technical and vocational disciplines.
The graduation of 4,050 trainees is being hailed by stakeholders as a bold statement of Kaduna State’s commitment to human capital development and a significant contribution to the national drive for skills acquisition, job creation and industrial growth.
The event is expected to feature the presentation of certificates, exhibitions of trainees’ projects and addresses by senior government officials on the future of technical and vocational education in Nigeria.
