The Kebbi State Commissioner for Information and Culture, Alhaji Yakubu Ahmed BK, has urged Special Assistants on New Media under the Argungu Emirate to strengthen their collaboration and intensify publicity of Governor Nasir Idris’ achievements.
The Commissioner gave the charge on Saturday while addressing the New Media aides at the Argungu Local Government Secretariat, as part of the ongoing State and nationwide tour by the Governor’s media aides to engage relevant stakeholders.
In a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Ahmed Idris, the Commissioner emphasised the importance of unity, teamwork and dedication in effectively communicating the policies, programmes and achievements of the administration to the people.
He said stronger collaboration among the New Media aides would enhance the visibility of the accomplishments recorded by the Governor in the past three years.
Ahmed commended the media aides for their contributions to the publicity of government activities and achievements, urging them to sustain and improve their efforts.
“You have been doing well, but we want you to put more effort into the job. You can see how this administration is investing in social media and New Media. You must not disappoint the Governor, who has demonstrated strong commitment to supporting you,” he said.
The Commissioner also urged the aides to maintain professionalism and remain coordinated and proactive in disseminating accurate information on government policies and programmes.
Also speaking, the Special Adviser to the Governor on New Media, Aliyu Bandado, urged the Special Assistants to continue supporting the administration through effective communication and the strategic use of social media platforms.
Bandado said Governor Idris had consistently emphasised the importance of social media in modern governance, noting that the commitment and dedication of the New Media team would continue to contribute significantly to publicising the administration’s achievements and strengthening engagement with citizens.
He further called for sustained support and empowerment of the New Media team by the Governor to enable the aides to deliver more effectively.
