Founder of Stanel Group and The Delborough Lagos, Dr Stanley Uzochukwu, has congratulated Flutterwave Chief Executive Officer, Olugbenga “GB” Agboola, on his recognition as one of the world’s Top 100 Fintech Leaders.
Agboola was named in the 2026 edition of FinTech Magazine’s Top 100 Fintech Leaders, alongside prominent figures in the global financial technology industry, including Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong, Block CEO Jack Dorsey and Stripe co-founder and CEO Patrick Collison.
In a congratulatory message, Uzochukwu described the recognition as a major achievement for Agboola and another indication of the growing influence of Nigerian entrepreneurs on the global business stage.
He commended the Flutterwave CEO for his leadership and contributions to the growth of Africa’s digital financial ecosystem, saying the recognition demonstrates the potential of Nigerian-founded companies to compete and make an impact internationally.
Uzochukwu also said Agboola’s achievement should inspire young Nigerians to embrace innovation, entrepreneurship and the development of solutions capable of competing in the global marketplace.
The recognition comes amid Flutterwave’s continued expansion beyond its traditional payments business into broader financial infrastructure and services, including open banking. The company also secured a Nigerian microfinance bank licence in 2026.
Agboola’s latest recognition further strengthens his profile in Nigeria’s technology and business sectors.
Earlier in September, Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Disu appointed him a National Youth Ambassador of the Nigeria Police Force under its youth security, peacebuilding and empowerment initiative.
Uzochukwu’s congratulatory message also reflects the growing interaction between Nigerian business leaders whose interests span technology, entrepreneurship and investment.
Agboola’s inclusion among the world’s leading fintech figures puts Flutterwave further in the global spotlight and underscores the increasing international visibility of Nigerian-founded technology companies.
