President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio, has condoled with President Bola Tinubu and the Armed Forces over the crash of a Nigerian Air Force aircraft in Ondo State.

Akpabio, in a condolence message issued by his Special Adviser, Hon. Eseme Eyiboh, said he received with grief the tragic incident near Igbokoda, Ilaje Local Government Area.

“On behalf of the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, I extend my deepest condolences to His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, the Chief of Defence Staff, the Chief of the Air Staff, the Service Chiefs, officers and men of our Armed Forces, and the families and loved ones of all those who perished,” he said.

Akpabio noted that the loss was painful for the nation, stating that “A nation may mourn its fallen heroes, but it must never forget the courage with which they gave their lives in service to the Republic.”

He prayed for the repose of the souls of the departed and for divine comfort for their families and the nation.
