Engr. Bukar Mamadu was among the Nigerian innovators who participated in the Grand Finale of the NextGen Innovation Challenge 2026, held at ExCeL London, United Kingdom, showcasing the growing contribution of Nigerian technology talents to the global digital economy.
The challenge, organised by the National Board for Technology Incubation (NBTI) under the leadership of its Director-General, Dr. Kazeem Kolawole Raji, provides a platform for homegrown innovations to gain international visibility, connect with investors and explore commercialisation opportunities.
Mamadu’s innovation, BUKARSKYWALKER combines engineering, artificial intelligence and creative expression through digital music, poetry and other creative works, demonstrating the diverse possibilities of emerging technologies.
His participation reflects the Federal Government’s broader ambition to expand Nigeria’s digital economy under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, including efforts to develop digital skills, encourage technology entrepreneurship and create opportunities for Nigerians to compete in global markets. These priorities are reflected in initiatives such as the 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) programme, which aims to strengthen Nigeria’s digital workforce.
Through the NextGen Innovation Challenge, NBTI continues to promote indigenous technological development, entrepreneurship and the transformation of Nigerian ideas into commercially viable solutions.
Mamadu’s participation highlights the role of Nigerian innovators in advancing the country’s digital development and creative economy.
