The gathering, which brought together an assemblage of political leaders, the clergy, traditional institutions, organized private sector and critical stakeholders from across the 17 Local Government Areas, was charged with excitement and a palpable sense of collective ownership.

The Chairman of Igboeze South Local Government Area, Hon. Barr Ugo Ferdinand Ukwueze, in his remarks, acknowledged the monumental milestones recorded and urged Ndi Enugu to take immense pride in the excellent performance of the administration and the consistent opportunities its visionary leadership has created.

He noted that education occupies a pride of place in the development masterplan, with the revolutionary construction of 268 Smart Green Schools across the 312 wards, a deliberate investment in the next generation of children and youth whose skillset is now receiving practical, future-proofing support through skilled technical education and software development.

Hon. Ukwueze who is also the chairman of Enugu State ALGON (Association of Local Governments of Nigeria) further highlighted the strategic activation of the Enugu Air economy and the aviation ecosystem, the establishment of CNG bus terminals to reposition urban mobility, and the administration’s deep dive into agriculture as a commercial enterprise.
In this regard, he said, the revitalization of United Palm Products Limited, with over One Hundred Billion Naira injected into the palm plantation ecosystem, now almost fully cultivated across six hundred thousand square meters, stands out as a testament to economic recovery.
Added to this, is the successful return of Sunrise Flour Mills to full operation through a backward integration model via a robust Public Private Partnership, the development of a world-class abattoir and ranch for animal husbandry and protein processing for domestic consumption and export, and the ongoing cargo terminal project, he said.

In the extractive and energy sector, the state ALGON Boss said the administration’s strategic partnership through the Bureau of Public Enterprises has unlocked the vast coal deposits of the Coal City, with over two billion metric tonnes of the best grade coal in the world domiciled in Enugu’s soil. With a credible investor already secured, the State is set to unveil a new energy economy at Amansiodo.

On healthcare delivery, Hon. Ukwueze observed that the Mbah administration is revolutionizing the health architecture through the construction and equipping of 260 Type Two Primary Healthcare Centres across all wards, matched with the strategic recruitment of 2,250 health personnel to ensure 24/7 service delivery and to plug critical manpower gaps, he further said.
He mentioned another achievement as the establishment of Enugu’s quaternary healthcare level, equipped with MRI, Radiology, CT Scan, Mammography and other advanced diagnostic services, is deliberately designed to reverse medical tourism and position Enugu as a medical hub.

The State’s aviation connectivity, he disclosed is being complemented by six immersive tourism sites, including the development of what will be the longest zip-line in the world.
The administration, the Council chairman added is also reclaiming and repositioning the Nsude Pyramid, a heritage monument with over 2000 years of history, to honour our ancestry while recasting it as a global cultural asset, with plans for an offsite executive retreat.
Hon. Ukwueze expressed profound gratitude to the clergy, noting that 66 Dioceses have honoured Governor Peter Mbah for his moral leadership and inclusive governance, a rare attestation to the harmony between government and the faith community.
