2027: APC Promises PDP Supporters big rewards in FCT

By Daniel Tyokua

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has promised to reward Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) members supporting its candidates ahead of the 2027 elections.

The FCT APC Chairman, Mr Tanko Yamawo, gave the assurance during an interactive meeting convened by FCT Minister Nyesom Wike in Kuje Area Council, attended by political leaders of both parties and traditional rulers.

Yamawo said the growing cooperation between the APC and PDP under the Rainbow Coalition would yield political benefits for members of both parties, particularly those supporting President Bola Tinubu’s re-election.

He described the alliance as a new chapter in the territory’s political history, likening it to Gayya, a traditional communal farming practice in which community members work collectively for one person, with the understanding that the gesture will be reciprocated.

He described the Rainbow Coalition as a platform for uniting political interests, exchanging ideas and strengthening grassroots engagement for the development of the FCT.

The APC chairman also commended Wike for fostering peace and cooperation between members of both parties, saying the alliance had reduced political hostilities during campaigns.

Yamawo said the alliance had enabled leaders of both parties to share ideas and work together, adding that cooperation could deliver tangible results for the territory.

He expressed optimism that sustained collaboration would strengthen political engagement and promote development across the FCT as activities gather momentum ahead of the 2027 elections.

“Today is an era to farm for the APC. If this unity continues, and I believe, Insha’Allah, it will, we are going to pay back to the PDP in a big way.

“This is the first time we are campaigning in the FCT and no car smashing has been recorded anywhere because there is unity in the FCT, courtesy of the Honourable Minister,” he said.
