As Kogi state APC Congress holds this Saturday 29th May 2022 to elect representatives of the party for the forthcoming 2023 national elections, one Senator expected to make the difference is the encumbent Kogi West Senator, Smart Adeyemi.
Adeyemi who has been outstanding in his approach to national issues remains an asset to the party.
His peoples oriented bills and motions has endeared him among his colleagues and members of his constituency.
A one time President of Nigeria Union of Journalist ,NUJ Senator Smart Adeyemi once shed tears on the floor of the Senate over the incessant killings across the country calling security agency to do something serious to save Nigerians.
Senator Adeyemi won the Kogi West Senatorial seat in 2007 and was defeated in 2015 by Senator Dino Melaye. He however got back his seat and was sworn in in 2019 after he was declared winner of the Kogi West Senatorial seat defeating the encumbent, Senator Melaye.
A highly vocal person, Senator Adeyemi may have stepped on some toes in his sojourn to the upper Legislative House but his constituency remains his source of strength given his track record.
If he eventually gets the nod to retain his seat his party can go to sleep. On the contrary if he fails, the joy will be to the opposition in the state. Adeyemi remains a very strong contender to the Kogi West Senatorial seat.
