Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), in Imo state, Hon. John Iwuala, has called on President MUhammadu to resign, following his failure to protect citizen from the high level of insecurity in Nigeria
Hon Iwual, who fielded questions to journalist on Tuesday in Owerri, pointed out that Buhari, as the Chief Security Officer and Commander in Chief of the Combined Armed Forces of Nigeria, has failed the people and so should resign immediately as a strategic measure of restoring trust and respect in governance of the nation.
According to him “it was a shameful thing for the jailbreak to happen at the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, while security agents were in Imo State parading, celebrating their day with Governor Hope Uzodimma, thereby leaving Imo citizens at the mercy of the terrorists” he lamented.
Iwuala regretted that the unfortunate thing about the whole matter was that there was no reinforcement which according to him, could make one reflect on the of the late Military Head of State, Sani Abacha that “any insurgency that lasts beyond 24 hours must have the hands of government in it”, adding that “citizens are now left in jeopardy, living in great fear in their own country.”
While calling on Nigerians to reject the All Progressives Congress,(APC) and the People’s Democratic Party, ( PDP ) and embrace APGA as the better political party’s alternative to rule the country in 2023, the APGA Chieftain further observed that the eare no longer safe in the hands of APC government, stating that the ruling party does not have the interest of the people in mind
He stressed that it is only APGA’s ideology that can salvage the nation, even as he appealed for support of APGA’s presidential candidate, Peter Umeadi, whom he said has the capacity to reposition the country through a workable constitution that would improve security, economy and education.
The Chairman reiterated that the party’s primaries in the state were the best as they were adjudged by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security personnel as transparent, free and fair without any form of litigations, disclosing that over 40% of aggrieved aspirants from APC and PDP have decamped to join APGA due to nonchalant and high-handed leadership of their former parties.
