The spokesperson of the Gawuna/Garo Campaign Council, Malam Muhammad Garba has predicted a landslide victory for the ruling all Progressive Congress (APC) in the February and March general elections in Kano state.
Malam Garba who is also the Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs in the state told journalists that the party has done enough home work that will ensure its victory at the polls.
According to him, Kano residents are all out to appreciate the modest achievements recorded by Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje’s administration at the polls come February and March general elections.
Malam Garba said the overwhelming acceptability being experienced by the APC campaign trains across the state speaks volume of the people’s desire for continuity by the APC government in the state.
The APC campaign spokesperson insisted that victory is sure for the party’s candidate at all levels.
Malam Garba said the Senator Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso’s New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), just like other opposition political parties are no threat to APC’s victory at all levels, including the presidential election.
According to him, “Kwankwaso is from Kano, a former governor, a former Minister, and of course, a senator. He will get some votes but APC will defeat him in the presidential race, and will defeat all other political parties by God’s grace in the gubernatorial race as well.
“We are saying, we are going to have a wide margin in the coming election. There will be no room for inconclusive election in this 2023 election because we have realised our mistakes. We have taken measures and control of everything including structures down to the ward level.
“Those of you who attended the BBC gubernatorial candidates debate in Kano have seen it all. The rating by the BBC scored APC 35 with the second having just 20 marks.
“The so much talked about NNPP scored 15 and in the 3rd place. This is an indicator. I want to assure you that the NNPP will be surprised when the elections come.”
Malam Garba maintained that the governorship candidate of the APC in the state, Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna has won the support and admiration of the electorate in across the 44 Local Government Areas of the state.
He further stated that: “People are accepting him because they see him as more matured, composed, very humble and highly experienced person, especially as a former local government chairman, commissioner and incumbent deputy governor.
“As the commissioner of agriculture, he was instrumental to the Kano state Rice revolution with numerous Rice mills and the state fertilizer plant KASCO, that is generating huge revenue for the state now.
“On personal ground, he has given scholarships to students acorss the state and free healthcare services to people from his Nasarawa local government area. People feel he can rightly stir affairs of the state.
“Gawuna’s campaign is hinged on continuity having worked with the Governor Abdulahi Ganduje for years.”
