The youths in their numbers took to the streets to trek through the streets in celebration of the victory of Tinubu and Shettima’s victory at the just concluded Presidential polls.
They said the peace rally came against the backdrop of uneasy calm that had trailed the announcement by the Independent National Electoral Commission across the the country, including the nation’s capital.
Convener of FCT Youths Coalition for Tinubu and Shettima, Butrus Garki said the Abuja youths were celebrating because of the known capacity of the President elect in delivering good governance and human capital development.
He noted that Abuja indigenes believe that the Tinubu led administration would bring prosperity to the people and also address all grievances that lead to violent agitation.
According to him, the Abuja youths have faith in the in- coming administration of Bola Tinubu and Kashimu Shettima, to bring about the inclusion that the original inhabitants of Abuja have long yearned for.
Garki lamented that FCT indigenous people have continued to be marginalised in the distribution of government appointments and other benefits of governance.
While he assured the President-elect and his team of support, he also demanded that Abuja indigenes should be given their rightful place in the government.
Mohammed Musa, Director of Operation , APC President Campaign Council in FCT, said that Abuja indigenes and residents have high expectations which they hope the President elect would fulfil.
