One of the philanthropists, Him. Simon Oshi has celebrated the 49th birthday of Eboyi state Governor Hon. Francis Nwifuru with some destitute children in the Nation’s capital, Abuja.
At the celebration in Abuja children’s home, Karu on Sunday, Oshi said joining the children to honour the governor was to show case his love for humanity especially the less privileged through his administrative lifestyle since he became Governor.
Oshi said, Nwifuru as a friend has been demonstrating capacity and love for people and there was the need to reechoe his birthday beyond Ebonyi state.
He encouraged those who thought that they are forgotten in the society, not to give up in life, saying blessing and favour will come from God at the appointed time.
Oshi who donated bags of rice, tubers of yam, gallons of vegetable oil, detergents, soaps for the use of the less privileged and orphans at the home, belonging to the FCT Administration, said the gesture, which was aimed at putting smiles on faces of the beneficiaries, who are future leaders, despite their current realities.
The former candidate for House of Representative in Enugu state, said he decided to mark the governor’s birthday by reaching with such donations to the orphans at the home mainly youth, because of the manifest love the governor has for the wellbeing of Ebonyi youths, which serves as an inspiration to him and other associates of the celebrant within and outside the state.
Receiving the items, the Head of Nanny at the Home, Anthonia Ejele, described the gesture as unique and timely, given the prevailing economic hardship in the society.
Ejele, who thanked the donor for choosing the Home for the donation, also led the children in singing happy birthday songs and offering prayers for the governor.
Governor of Ebony state, Francis Nwifuru (born 25 February 1975), a lawyer, previously served as speaker of the state House of Assembly from June 2015 to May 2023.
